A Muse Came To Me....

So, the picture in this post is already self explanatory. The Resistance, Muse's new album, I just bought it recently, and I must say, I love it! I never really have listened to Muse before. One day, a friend of mine pulled out the album in class, I've seen the album art on the internet before, so I automatically knew it what the album was. Being that I love album art, and when I first saw this art I fell in love with it, I had to see it in person, so I asked my friend to let me see it. He went on to explain the album, how good it was, and that I should really take a listen to it. Well, I did, and I did like it, especially the title track, Resistance. I told myself I was going to buy it once I had money. That was a few months ago, just this week I remembered that I had the album on my wish list, checked my bank account and saw I had a few bucks and decided to buy it. The more I listened to it the more I liked it. I highly recommend giving the album a listen on Grooveshark, and from there, decide if you would like to buy it or not. That's all, I got to keep getting ready for the migration to my new Mac, see you all later.

My Trip To Jersey

Last weekend I was in New Jersey. Those of you who have been following my work since at least last summer know how close I am to my family there. My trip was great, and I didn't want to come back to Florida. So without further a due, a summary of my trip.

I left on Thursday the 22nd. We got there at about 10 PM. From there we headed of to Queens, New York to visit the house distant family member who just passed away. I never knew the person, so I wasn't really affected, but my condolences went out to those who were. From there we headed off to probably one of my favorite parts in Jersey, Cliffside Park. I spent the night in one of my cousins house. And thats pretty much it. Nothing really happened that day since we got there so late.

Friday morning, my mom picked us up to go to Union City to see my grandma. We were at her house for a while before we headed off to walk down Bergenline Avenue. That street is basically the main street. After we got back, my aunt who I haven't seen in years picked us up to go to her house in Little Ferry. We stayed there for a few hours to surprise my cousin, her son, who I also haven't seen in years. After that, my cousins from Cliffside and I headed off to my other aunts house in Union City where we stayed the night.

Saturday morning, we all had to wake up relatively early to head back to Cliffside Park and get ready for my cousin's 18th birthday party. Nothing really eventful happened between the time we woke up and the time the party started, except that it started raining like crazy. If that counts. We're at the party, my cousins and I are sitting at the head table. Now this part you might know of if you follow me on Twitter. I go up to the entrance of the room to go look at something, when a.... "friend" walks in. I actually froze up, to know why, go look through twitter and find out. (*Cough* Hint: http://twitter.com/periahdark/status/5134036687 *cough*) If you guys didn't get what I meant there, then you are pretty oblivious. If you really need to know, contact me somehow and I'll tell you. Anyway, after the party, we went on a party bus to New York. Times Square to be exact. Around 4 AM we went back to Union City and knocked out for the night.

Sunday was a pretty good day, it was the day before we left. So, we went to Manhattan to walk around. It was only my cousin from Little Ferry and I. Oh and of course my parents and sister and her friend. But as for my cousins, it was only him. We walked from 8th Avenue, past Central Park, to the 5th Avenue glass, flagship Apple Store. There I played with the new iMacs and the Magic Mouse. I loved them both. After that, we started heading back to 8th Avenue to take a bus back to Union City. We stopped by a pizza place first though. A visit to New York wouldn't be complete without some New York pizza.

Monday is here, it's almost time to leave. We wen't to Cliffside, said our good byes to our cousins there. Unfortunately I wasn't able to, not only not say bye to my friend, but also not spend time with her at all besides the party....spend time with her and the rest of the family of course..hehe..ahem. I told my cousin to tell her good bye on by behalf, then we headed back to Queens for a funeral. From Queens we said good bye to everyone else and headed to the airport. We boarded, we landed, and then we went home. Of course I was sad that I had to leave. It was nice to be back in my own bed though.

And that's it, that was my trip to Jersey in a nutshell....a pretty big nutshell. Thanks for reading everyone, now I got to go take measures to make sure certain parts of this post aren't seen by certain people. Haha.

Apple's Rock And Roll Event

Today, 9/9/09, Apple held an event to release new iPods, as they do every year. This year there were some crazy rumors, some came true, others didn't. Though most of them did. And before I go any further, NO, NO APPLE TABLET!!!

To start off, if you're an Apple enthusiast, you would know Steve Jobs has been very sick. Well today, we were lucky to see him as the presenter of today's event. The audience even gave him a standing ovation. He deserves it, I'm glad to see him back. Anyways, the first announcement: iTunes 9.

iTunes 9 is the next version of iTunes, obviously, available right now. It gives us a slight interface change, things are a bit more shiny, I love it. One of the biggest rumors with iTunes 9 was that it was going to have Twitter and Facebook integration. That came true, now in the iTunes store we can tweet out or update our status with the iTunes links to anything in the store.

With the new interface, comes a redesigned iTunes store, a lot cleaner and easier to use. Its much quicker to get to certain parts of the store. The nav-bar has been redesigned to have links to each part of the store in it. Apple has also announce a new way they will sell albums. It's called iTunes LP. Basically, the albums sold as iTunes LPs will have extra content, like bonus tracks, lyrics, band photos, etc. You also can now organize your iPhone and iPod touch apps right within iTunes, no longer need to scroll page by page to arrange icons.

After iTunes, the next version of the iPhone OS was released, 3.1. It's also downloadable right now. Free for iPhone users. iPod touch users running 3.0 also get it for free, but anything lower than that must pay $4.95. New features include voice over support through bluetooth headsets, option to "save as new clip" when trimming videos on an iPhone, improved copy and paste, and more.

Now the iPod touches, huge price drop. 8GB for $199, 32GB for $299, and 64GB for $399. There is no more 16GB version. One HUGE rumor for the iPod touch was the inclusion of a camera. That didn't happen. That was actually the one thing most people thought would happen for sure. Though there were last minute rumors of problems with the cams, causing them to be postponed. The 32 and 64 gig versions also got a spec bump, up to 50% faster they say. Guess I'm back to being jealous of the iPods for having faster processors.....

Now the iPod classic. Most people thought it was going to be killed off today. Not the case, it just got a storage capacity increase, thats it. No camera, no price drop. It's at $249 for 160GB. And iPod shuffles next. After the new redesign, people weren't happy with only two colours and the fact that they must use Apple's headphones with it. This changed today, now the iPod shuffle has 5 colours, black, aluminium, pink, blue, and green. Also has 3rd party headphone support. Prices start at $59 and $79.

Well that's it...oh wait, there is one more thing....the iPod nanos. They got something I didn't think was going to happen, but a lot of people did, Cameras. The new design, which is the same as last years except its a bit more glossy, now has a video camera. So far, no news if it takes still images. It comes in the same colours but now has a 2.2 inch screen. It also has an FM radio tuner, a speaker, and Nike+iPod support. All the iPods are available starting TODAY!

And that is what happened today at the Apple event. Thanks for reading guys, but now I have to go download the updates and edit my Apple event video for YouTube. Thanks for reading, see you all later.
